Rough carpentry is the framing hidden inside the walls. Finish carpentry is everything you see once the walls are up: trim, doors, stairs, built-ins, and cabinetry. It takes more precision because every joint is visible.

Can you match the trim in my older home?

Usually, yes. Many Cape houses have profiles that aren't sold off the shelf anymore. We can source close matches or build up a profile from stock moldings so new work blends with the original.

Do you handle plumbing and electrical on remodels?

We manage the whole remodel and bring in licensed plumbers and electricians for that part of the work, so you still have one point of contact.

Finish carpentry is everything you see and touch once the walls are up: casings, baseboards, crown, wainscoting, window stools, door hanging, shelving, and the small scribes and returns that hide an uneven floor or an out-of-plumb wall. Cape Cod homes, from 1700s capes to 1980s ranches, rarely have a square corner, so we measure every run, cope inside corners instead of butting them, and glue and pin outside miters so they stay closed through humid summers and dry winters.
